The Palais Mamming Museum - which presents the collections of the Merano City Museum - will be housed in the newly restored Baroque palace on Piazza Duomo from 2015. The display collection provides an overview of the historical development of the town. The tour starts with prehistory and early history and touches on all areas of life before ending with modern art. What makes this unconventional collection so appealing, however, are a few exotic artefacts - including an Egyptian mummy and the Sudanese weapons collection of the adventurer Slatin Pasha, a typewriter belonging to Peter Mitterhofer and a death mask of Napoleon.

A house for contemporary art in Merano's old town: open all year round, Kunst Meran presents changing exhibitions on artistic positions in the visual arts, architecture, literature, music, photography and new media on three floors with around 500 square metres of exhibition space. The museum is run by the non-profit Kunst Meran association, which finances the programme with public and private funding.

The 7 gardens in the Kränzelhof are a living work of art and a stage for changing exhibitions by national and international artists. The magic of the gardens arises from the diversity of moods. Along the paths that meander through trees, shrubs, small water landscapes and the maze, you will always discover new, magical places that are enchanting in their simplicity and tranquillity.
