In Meran, you will find many historic art-nouveau buildings alongside countless middle-age castles and palaces. The old town is characterised by a long porticoed street, the 3 gates of the town and the St. Nicholas parish church. The mild, Mediterranean climate and the pure clean air have always drawn visitors to the town. Today, around 35,000 people live in Meran.
